Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty or eyelid tightening can be performed for the upper and lower eyelids. This treats what people often describe as “eye bags” or “tired eyes”. Blepharoplasty surgery often makes people look more refreshed and awake. It may be combined with other procedures such as a browlift or ptosis correction.

Blepharoplasty surgery is most commonly performed as day surgery. After the operation, you will experience swelling of the eyelids and face, and this can take a while to settle, especially if you had a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. Please see the “Having Surgery?” tab for further details for your recovery.

Most people feel that they can return to work and normal activities after 1-2 weeks.

Dr Ullrich will discuss risks and benefits of the procedure with you prior to any surgery. Individual advice may vary.
